No More Pain!

In my last few blogs, I mentioned going grain free and gluten free. I am already gluten free but have never been grain free. I supplemented my diet with gluten-free slices of bread and sometimes even chips.  I thought I was doing the best I could for my body; I was avoiding gluten products as instructed. But my overall body pain and weight remained unchanged.

So why are gluten and grains in our diet an issue? Let me explain.

Studies are showing that there is a direct link between the inflammation caused by foods containing gluten, (and similar substances), and as a result pain will be felt in joints and other parts of our bodies. (No Grain, No Pain, Osborne)

Gluten is defined as a large family of storage proteins that can be found in ALL grains. Grains include the following: rice, brown and white; corn; oats; rye; and wheat. Studies are showing that there is a direct link between the inflammation caused by foods containing gluten, (and similar substances), and as a result, the pain will be felt in joints and other parts of our bodies. (No Grain, No Pain, Osborne)

Eating grains has a direct effect on the production of immune chemicals, which causes the body to then feel pain and other symptoms. Interestingly enough, the inflammation tends to affect the body’s weakest area and causes pain there.

Gluten/ Grains may trigger migraines in one person or psoriasis and gut pain in another. With exposure, inflammation will occur. Chronic inflammation contributes to autoimmunity; the body becomes confused and your immune system starts attacking your own tissues.

Eating grains can lead to mineral and/or vitamin deficiencies. Without proper nutrition, minerals and vitamins on a daily basis, the inflammation can inhibit the body to heal. The results of which can result in the breakdown of muscles, joints, bones and other tissues. Again, resulting in pain. (No Grain, No Pain, Osborne).

Eating grains can result in a leaky gut. When you have a leaky gut, there are tiny, microscopic holes in the gut lining which allows bacteria and toxic chemicals to enter the bloodstream, “confusing the immune system and leading to internal warfare. The collateral damage includes such painful autoimmune conditions as migraines, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and IBS. ” (No Grain, No Pain, Osborne)

Do you see the pattern?

Grains result in the production of immune chemicals, which then causes inflammation and pain. Long-term inflammation can result in an autoimmune disease.

Are you as frustrated as I am to live in pain?

Do you want to change that?

Then let’s go grain free starting January 3, 2018.  (It’s not too late to join the exciting journey, even if it’s after January 2018!)

Let’s restore our health and those of a loved one.
